What it means to be Christian

You picked this lady as an example to "What it means to be Christian". I ask you this. If she was not a Christian would she still have saved those children? I think she would have. There are good and bad Christians. She is an excellent example of a great human being that happened to be Christian.

Your posts and comments I have read, you seem kind and thoughtful. My guess is that you are a good person, that also happens to be Christian.

I liked the video. thx :)

Thanks for the kind words, No Guy.

In answer to your question, of course. Jesus Christ told his followers to be kind, loving, and non-judgmental. That said, He was not the first spiritual leader to say that, nor will He be the last. Being a good person isn't unique to Christianity, nor is it (obviously) any more prevalent in Christianity than it is anywhere else.

What I mean to say, when I say things like "this is what it means to be Christian", is that Jesus Christ laid out a moral code for Christians to follow. The themes of kindness, love, and acceptance are more prevalent in the New Testament than any other themes. It disturbs me that there are so many Christians who claim allegiance to Christ but who do not follow His moral code. It's very hypocritical, don't you think?

So, no, you don't have to be a Christian to be this kind of person. But you should have to at least try to be this kind of person to be Christian.

I concur. I have no beef with anyone for their beliefs, and truly if ever one was as she was the world we be great (although possibly a little boring, but that's a whole different topic).

I find it hilarious in that hateful kind of way when people will talk about how every one should strive to be said way, and not take into considerations they themselves are not following that idea at all.

That happens to be pretty much all the loud type of people (usually wealthy Caucasians who follow the path of Christianity) who place judgment on everyone but themselves, which if I remember right, is pretty much the exact opposite of anything the bible would say to do.

Then again, what would a heathen like me know?

If everyone was as she was, nobody would need to be as she was.... OK, my brain just exploded.

And for the record, I'm just going to pretend that I never pass judgment on anyone in this blog, thus making myself seem morally superior. Is it working?

We're all heathens here.
